Linda L. Brown ROSEVILLE: Linda L. Brown, 66, of Franklin Street, Roseville, passed away December 23, 2014 at 3:56 pm at Scioto Pointe in Columbus. Linda was born on the 4th of July 1948 in Reynoldsburg, Ohio to the late Gareth and Ivy (Savage) Smith. Linda had worked for the DMV in New Lexington. She is a member of the Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall in New Lexington. Linda is survived by her husband Roger Brown whom she married June 16, 1966; her daughters Kimberly (Yogi) Jones of North Carolina and Amy (Matthew) Weimer of South Carolina; her sisters Cinda (Owen) McIntosh of Crooksville and Judy (Dennis) Shattuck, of Burlington, Kentucky; her six grandchildren Sky, Brianna, Tyler, Adrian, Austin, and Micha. Services will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2015, at 2 pm at New Lexington Kingdom Hall with Donnie Brown officiating. Arrangements are being handled by the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls.

Bingman, Ralph Curtis  
Ralph Curtis Bingman MCCONNELSVILLE: Ralph Curtis Bingman, 93, formerly of McConnelsville, died December 21,2014 at the Convalarium of Indian Run, Dublin, Ohio. He was born June 10,1921 to the late Curtis H. and Leora Harkins Bingman in Penn Township, Morgan County. An outstanding basketball player, he graduated from Pennsville High School in 1939. He was a World War II Army veteran. Ralph was babtized December 14 1941, and attended Dublin-Powell Church of Christ after being a member of the Seventh Street Church of Christ in McConnelsville for 69 years where he served as Deacon for 15 years and as Elder for 44 years. He was owner and manager of McConnelsville Tire Shop for over forty years, a John Deer dealer, and an insurance agent for Motorists Mutual Insurance Company. He was a lifetime member of the Morgan County Historical Society; National Rifle Association; founder and served on the Morgan-Meigsville Water Board for many years; and was a 65 year member of the American Legion. He loved to play golf, bowling, and in his younger years, deer hunting. Ralph is survived by his wife of 73 years, Rena Pearl Patterson Bingman, whom he married July 12, 1941; a daughter, Bonnie B. Ford, Dublin; two sons, Max (Joy) Bingman, Marysville and Mark (Kim) Bingman, Maumelle, Arkansas; nine grandchildren; and five great grandchildren; two brothers, Francis Bingman, Grove City and Cecil Bingman, Hillsboro, Missouri; sister-in-law, Evelyn Bingman, Hebron; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by five sisters, Irene Coler, Juanita Patterson, Mildred Stalnaker, Eva Spencer, and Lilah Wingeier; and two brothers, Howard Bingman and Virgil Bingman. Calling hours will be Friday, December 26, 2014 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. and Saturday, December 27, 2014 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the Seventh Street Church of Christ in McConnelsville. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Evangelist Sam Bartrug and Evangelist Randy Baker officiating. He will be laid to rest in Deerfield Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Post #24 Color Guard. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Seventh Street Church of Christ or Alzheimer's Association. Brown, Betty Carol  
Betty Carol Brown NEWARK: A funeral service for Betty Carol Brown, 71, of Newark, will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, at Northside Church of Christ, with Pastor Bruce Hissong and Pastor Frank Austin officiating. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St. Newark. Betty Carol passed away December 22, 2014, at the Autumn Health Care. She was born January 17, 1943, in Whitesville, N.C., to the late Thurman and Elizabeth (Lipps) Freeman. She retired from the Newark Air Force Base and was a member of the Northside Church of Christ. She is survived by her husband, Bernard B. Brown; daughters, Lori (Kelly) Brocklehurst of Dresden, Leslie (Tom) Harris of Frazeysburg, Amy (Marty) McGlone of Columbus, Marcy Henry of FL, and Lisa (Mike) McDonald of Frazeysburg; step-sons, Keith Brown and Jim (Shari) Brown both of Newark; sisters, Millie (Tom) Naftzger of Bucyrus, and Sandra Spicer of TN; brother, T.W. (Karan) Freeman of Newark; 20 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Terry Wise; and two grandchildren. Barker, Thomas  
Thomas A. Barker DUNCAN FALLS: Thomas A. Barker, 72, of Duncan Falls, passed away at his home on December 16, 2014. Thomas was born on November 30, 1942 in Zanesville the son of the late Alvin and Mildred (Higgens) Barker. He previously lived in Las Vegas until returning home in 1990 to care for his ailing mother. Thomas began working at the Muskingum County Library in 1993 and he continued to work there until the present day. Thomas is survived by his cousin Rita Baechel of Akron, several close friends and his library family. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions in Thomas' name to the Muskingum County Library Fund, c/o The Community Foundation, 534 Putnam Avenue, Zanesville, Ohio, OH 43701. Visitations will be 11 to 1 pm Saturday, December 20, 2014 at the Farus Funeral Home in Duncan Falls. Funeral Services will be held at 1 pm with a Dominican Father from St. Thomas Aquinas Church to be celebrant. He will be laid to rest beside his mother and father in the Duncan Falls Cemetery.

Briggs, Dorothy Marie  
Dorothy Marie Briggs ZANESVILLE: Dorothy Marie Briggs , 88 of Zanesville died at 6:45 PM Tuesday, December 16, 2014 the Oaks at Northpointe under the loving care of Genesis Hospice & Palliative Care. She was born on March 14, 1926 in Zanesville the daughter of Amos and Anna Prosser Ross. Dorothy was a lifetime member of Brighton First Free Methodist, a homemaker, former volunteer at Bethesda Hospital, former employee of Ross IGA. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, reading, gardening, collecting angels and was an avid Buckeye's fan. Most importantly, Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and especially her grandchildren. She is survived by two sons, John (Chris) Briggs of St. Charles, IL and Randy (Deanna) Briggs of Zanesville; a daughter, Pamela (Keith) Slotter of Williamsburg VA; grandchildren, Leslie (Trent) McKay, Sarah (James) Chyllo, Peter (Amanda) Briggs, Mark (Aubrey) Briggs, Skylar Slotter, Michael (Chelsie) Briggs, Shelby Slotter, Ashley Briggs, Jenna Briggs and Jacob Briggs; great grandchildren: Noah and Hannah McKay, Luke Briggs, Andrew and Allison Chyllo; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Briggs of Berea KY; and many nieces and nephews. Dorothy was preceded in death her husband John Briggs in 9/11/1999; a son Timothy Briggs; and three brothers, Lewis Ross, Harold Ross and Russell Ross. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8pm on Friday, December 19, 2014 at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home where Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, December 20, 2014 with Pastor Daniel Neville & Rev. Mark Douglas officiating. Burial will conclude at the Washington Baptist Cemetery, Church Hill Rd., Zanesville. .
