Callison, Alice (Pierce)  
Alice (Pierce) Callison HEBRON: A funeral service for Alice (Pierce) Callison, age 80, of Hebron will be held at 12 Noon, on Tuesday, December 23, at the First Baptist Church of Newark, 1000 Granville Road, Newark, with Pastor Jim Addy officiating. Burial will be held at 3 p.m. in Licking Cemetery, Hebron. Alice passed away Thursday, December 18, 2014 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 8, 1934 in Santoy, Ohio to the late Hilbert and Elva J. (Laughlin) Pierce. She married the love of her life, John (Jim) Callison, May 25, 1958 at the Hebron United Methodist Church and he preceded her in death, November 12, 2014. Alice was a member of First Baptist Church of Newark and the Junior Women's Club in Hebron where she made many life-long friends. She was a graduate of Homer-Union School, class of 1952, in Morgan County, Ohio. She was a School Bus Driver for Lakewood for over 14 years and volunteered at Licking Memorial Hospital for over 20 years where she also served two terms as president of the Volunteer Organization. She volunteered for many years at the Indian Mound Mall collecting funds for "Light Up a Life" benefiting Hospice of Central Ohio. Alice enjoyed life to its fullest and had a contagious smile. She loved helping others. She was an amazing seamstress, cook, baker, and jelly maker who loved to read and build puzzles. Alice was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She is survived by three children, Darlene (Randy) Ogle, David Callison and Darletta (Tom) Poos; the "apple of her eye," grandson, Andy Poos and "adopted" daughter, Donna Ours; sisters, Lucy Best, Rhea Price, Florence Duncan, Jean (Jimmy) Duncan and Ina Stanley; brother, Homer (Eileen) Pierce. She is also survived by numerous Callison brothers and sisters-in-law; as well as 35 nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Allyson Leigh Poos; a sister, Gladys Jones; three brothers, Otis "Shorty", Howard "Happy" and Rodney Pierce; and three infant sisters. Friends may call Monday, December 22, from 5-8 p.m. at the Heath Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service, 1249 Hebron Road, Heath and Tuesday from 11 a.m. - 12N at the First Baptist Church.
