Glen Eldon Mautz

HOUSTON, TX: Glen Eldon Mautz passed away peacefully on November 13, 2012, surrounded by family, at his home in Houston, Texas at the age of 79. Glen, one of six children, was born in Zanesville, Ohio, on January 8, 1933, to the late Carl Henry Mautz and Bertha Inez Imes Mautz.

Glen had a passion for history, designing and building, telling jokes, and taking care of his family. There also was nothing that he couldn't build from PVC pipe.

Glen moved to Houston in his twenties and raised his family and enjoyed a long and fulfilling career with Anderson Greenwood. After retirement, he returned to Zanesville in 1990 and worked his farm, which he enjoyed immensely, then eventually moved back to Houston in 2010. He continued working as a consultant for The National Board and JAC Consulting, Inc.

He is survived by his sons, Carl, Randall (Sharon) Mautz, and grandson, Stephen (Heather) Mautz of Houston, TX, son, Jason Mautz, and grandchildren, Chloe Mautz and Jaiden Mautz of Zanesville; brothers, Gene and Dale, sister, Marjorie (Ray) Dixon of Zanesville, brother, Roger Mautz of Mt Perry, OH. He also leaves behind a host of loving family and friends and his best pal "Scrappy".

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Myron Mautz.

The family would like to sincerely thank all the friendship and kindness expressed to us and Dad over the course of his illness. The family would also like to extend a special thank you to his niece, Shirley Parker for being there when Dad needed her. He had a caring heart and his never ending sense of humor will long be remembered.

A celebration of Glen's life will be held at his home in Houston on December 8th, 2012 at noon.
