Harold E. "Gene" Rose
NEW LEXINGTON: Harold E. "Gene" Rose passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2012 at Genesis Morrison House, Zanesville.
He was born June 4, 1925 to the late Jonnie and Edna Jones Rose.
He was a retired employee of the State of Ohio and served his country during World War II
in the United States Army in the 252nd Engineer Combat Division.
He is survived by his wife Esther Abram Rose; children, Cindy (Tim) Wilson of Stockport and Jonnie (Michelle) Rose of Mulberry, FL; step-children, Richard (Gloria) Grubb and Vicki (Ralph) Dickerson of New Lexington, and Peggy (Randy) Tahyi of Fortney, TX; brother, Paul (Rosalie Rose) of Gooding, Idaho; sister, Betty Ferguson of New Lexington; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ralph, Howard, Melvin Ray, and John Thomas; sisters, Genalee, Kathryn, and LeeAnn; step-sons, Ralph E. and Charles David Brunton.
Calling hours will be held Friday, December 28, 2012 from 4-8 p.m. at the Chute-Wiley Funeral Home, 118 S. Jackson St., New Lexington.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. H. Richard Young officiating. Burial will follow in Community Gardens Cemetery, New Lexington with Military graveside rites conducted by John Tague Post 188.
