Harriet P. Spencer

NEWARK: A funeral service for Harriet P. Spencer, 90, of Newark, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, with Tom Myers officiating. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Spencer, a homemaker, passed away January 17, 2013, at her residence. She was born October 10, 1922, in Zanesville, to the late Harrison and Mary Caroline (Bates) Fisher.

She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of the Elkhart Traveling Leprechauns.

She is survived by her son, Darrel (Florence) Spencer of Zanesville; two daughters, Patricia (Tom) Grove and Sandra (John) Nelson both of Newark; grandchildren, Fredda (Dave) Miracle of Newark, Darlene (Rick) Lyon of Florida, Dawn (Tony) Prouty of Zanesville, Jennifer Davis and Debi (Jim) Decker both of Newark, Amy (Gary) Lewis of Kentucky, John Dayle Nelson, Jamie (Tony) Woods and Kelly (Seth) Hottinger all of Newark; 19 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren and expecting 2 more great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dayle L. Spencer; twin brother, Harry Fisher; granddaughter, DeeDee Davis, and 2 half-sisters.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, 985 N. 21st St. Newark.
