James Maynard Lewis
CROOKSVILLE: James Maynard Lewis, 91, of Bradenton, Florida, formerly of Crooksville, Ohio died at 12:25pm on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Tidewell Hospice in Bradenton, Florida.
Born December 12, 1921 in Rose Farm, Ohio to the late Fred and Mary Sohrenssen Lewis.
Mr. Lewis was retired from AK Steel (formerly Armco Steel) in Zanesville, Ohio; he was a United States Army
Veteran of WW II, where he was in the South Pacific as a crew chief on B-24 bombers.
Survived by his daughter, Marcia Lewis (Ken) Schoeppner of Bradenton, FL.; three granddaughters, Wendy (Michael) McDonald and their children, Neal, Vincent and Elizabeth of Crestwood, KY.; Bonnie (Andy) Tenbarge and their children, Xander and Sydney of St. Joseph, MI.; Amy Schoeppner of Appleton, WI.; he is also survived by his elder sister, Jean Gold of Mayfield Heights, OH and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, preceded in death by wife, Mary Marcella Kellenbarger Lewis, November 2000; brothers, Bob, Carl and Ronald Lewis and sister, Dona.
Calling hours will be held from 10am-1pm with funeral service at 1:00pm with Reverend Richard Newlon officiating on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at the Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio.
Burial will be in New Lexington Cemetery with graveside military services by John Tague Post #188, American Legion of New Lexington, Ohio.
