Jeanette F. Hollenbeck
RUSHVILLE, IL: Jeanette F. Hollenbeck, 96, of Rushville, Illinois, formerly of Cumberland, Ohio, passed away at 1:20 PM, Friday, November 30, 2012, at Snyder's Vaughn-Haven Nursing Home in Rushville.
She was born on May 3, 1916, in Rushville, New York, the daughter of the late Fred and Mabel (Kohler) Broughton. She married Ernest R. Hollenbeck and he preceded her in death on December 17, 1972. She was also preceded in death by two granddaughters, Tonya Hollenbeck and Shannon Heaton; and four brothers, Charles, James, Fredrick and Vernon Broughton.
Surviving are two sons, Ronald Hollenbeck and wife, Marlene of Byesville, Ohio and Jim Hollenbeck of Senecaville, Ohio; three daughters, Pat Nicholson of Zanesville, Ohio, Dorothy "Dot" Heaton and Karen "Kate" Todd and husband, Butch all of Rushville; son-in-law, William Nicholson of Buffalo, Ohio; 14 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren; two brothers, Kenneth Broughton and wife, Paula of Alpine, Wyoming, and Donald Broughton and friend Sharon of Sayre, New York; one sister, Marjorie Close of Morris, Pennsylvania; and several nieces and nephews.
Jeanette first worked at Corning Glass Works in Corning, New York. She later owned Jeanette's Dry Goods in Cumberland, Ohio, for 20 years. She was a member of the Cumberland United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing, quilting, reading and traveling. She was also an avid bird watcher.
