Lawrence 'Lonnie' M. Doyle Jr.
ZANESVILLE: Lawrence 'Lonnie' M. Doyle Jr. passed away December 3, 2012 surrounded by loving family. He was born October 4, 1937 in Zanesville, Ohio.
As a young boy, Lonnie delivered many newspapers for the Zanesville Times Recorder, the Zanesville News and the Zanesville Signal. Lonnie is a retired T.V. repairman. He had his own antenna business and also worked at several service stations in the area. In his younger days he enjoyed going to the stock car races and working with the pit crews. Lonnie collected and repaired clocks for a hobby. He also pressed transfers on T-shirts. He loved to play cards and was a member of the Zanesville Fraternal Order of Eagles 302 and the Zanesville American Legion Post 29. Lonnie served in the United States Navy
from 1954 to 1957. He served on three ships, the USS Hornet, USS Hancock and the USS Point Cruise. Lonnie is a member of the First Baptist Church of Otsego and also attends the First Baptist Church of Duncan Falls as well as the Rushing Winds Christian Bikers Church.
Lonnie married Jeannine Patricia Ann Lang (McAvoy) in 1959. He lost his lovely wife of 48 years in 2007. He is also preceded in death by his parents, Larry and June Doyle, his sister, Sandra K. Brearley, two brothers, Carl Fredrick and Danny Lee Doyle and a great grandson, Michael Doyle.
Lonnie is survived by daughter, Alicia Doyle (Ed Mohler) of White Cottage, two sons, Larry (Sue) Doyle of New York and Marty (Mindy Sims) of Zanesville; step son, Robert (Carol) Lang of Connecticut; step daughter, Janet L. Lang of Zanesville; 18 grandchildren, James (Heather) Doyle, Michelle (Bobby Barnes) Smith, Shawn (Kassie), Jarett and Travis Doyle, Anthony (Heather) Baker, Adam (Amanda) LaRue, Joe Whitehead, Darcie and Lawrence Patrick Doyle, Rob (Angie) Lang and Ashley Lang, and 8 great grandchildren, Devawn, Denae, Caleb, Ashton, and Jailyn Doyle, Eli Barnes, Jacqueline LaRue and Kayley Lang; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles and brother-in-law, Steve(Marsha)Parmiter.
Viewing will be Thursday, December 6, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Burrell Funeral Services. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 7, 2012 at the funeral home with Minister Gerry Wade officiating. Cremation has been chosen.
