NEW LEXINGTON: Mary Pauline Berry, a home-grown resident of New Lexington, passed away Tuesday the 19th of February at New Lexington Care and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in 1943 in New Lexington, Ohio, Pauline attended St. Rose and St. Aloysious Catholic Schools and graduated from New Lexington High School in 1961.

She began working at Centel (later Sprint) in Fort Walton Beach, Florida as a draftsperson in the mid-1970s. She retired as an engineer in the mid-1990s.

Pauline enjoyed traveling, shopping and wearing colorful jewelry. As a poet she published multiple poems. She was especially fond of angels which she collected in the form of statues and figurines. In retirement she enjoyed watching birds and taking care of plants and flowers.

She is survived by her husband, Edward Berry; three children who live in Florida, John (Jodi) Haynes, Stephen (Robin) Haynes, and Theresa Haynes; her sister, Bonnie (Dick) Jacobs of Connecticut; step-son, Mark (Katy) Berry of Ohio; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Mary Green; her sister, Betty DiCicco; and her brother, Paul Green.

The Chute-Wiley Funeral Home, 118 S. Jackson St. New Lexington, has been entrusted with arrangements. A funeral service is planned for the spring.
