Richard L. "Dick" Brasseur

ZANESVILLE: Richard L. "Dick" Brasseur, 72 of Zanesville, died 10:52 AM Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at Genesis Morrison House Hospice following a lengthy illness. He was born Saturday, December 30, 1939 in Lancaster, the son of Paul Melchior Brasseur, Sr. and Genevieve L (Thimmes) Brasseur. He married Carol A. (McNerney) on Wednesday, August 7, 1968 and was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.

Dick was a graduate of Rosecrans High School and served in The United States Army Reserve. He was a member of Eagles Aerie # 302, was an avid card player, golfer and fisherman. Dick retired from General Electric in 1973 and took over the family business, The Home Insulation Company on Maple Avenue and operated it until 1991.

Dick is survived by his wife of the home; three daughters: Julia (Michael) MacLean and Annette (Matthew) Calendine both of Zanesville and Carolyn (Jeffrey) Munyan of Dresden; four grandchildren: Jaclyn MacLean, Jonathan MacLean, Samantha Munyan and Noah Calendine.

In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by and one brother: Paul M Brasseur Jr.

Friends may call from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM, today, October 11, 2012 at The Hillis & Hardwick Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, where funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Friday with a Dominican Father officiating.
