David Hamilton Obituary
ZANESVILLE: David Bruce Hamilton, 66 of Zanesville, passed away Friday March 21, 1014 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital Emergency Room. He was born August 12, 1947 in Zanesville a son of the late Donald and Jessie West Hamilton.
David was active with Coburn United Methodist Church, Zanesville Host Lions Club, Elks Lodge 114 and OAPSE. David served as Eastern District State Executive Board Member for 24 years and was the Executive Board Alternate for one year. He has served as Eastern District President over a period of 12 years and as his Local's President over a period of 22 years. David represented OAPSE within our International Union AFSCME, on the Sergeant-at-Arms Committee. He retired in 2013 as a courier with Zanesville City Schools, Local 003 with 46 years of service. He enjoyed spending his free time watching The Ohio State Buckeye's, playing a round of golf and spending time on the beach in Florida.
David is survived by his wife Sandra Knapp Hamilton; one daughter Danielle Hamilton of Zanesville; and step-daughter Laura Thompson (Mikael) of Orlando, FL. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister Karen Lasure.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Coburn U.M.C. Scholarship fund 3618 Maple Ave Zanesville, OH 43701 or the Zanesville Host Lions Club c/o Chris DeLancy 2437 Dresden Rd. Zanesville, OH 43701.
Calling hours will be held from4-8 on Thursday March 27, 2014 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD ZANESVILLE and one hour prior to services at 11am Friday March 28, 2014 in the Snouffer Chapel with Pastor Doris Flynn officiating. Burial will follow in Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
