ZANESVILLE: Walter E. 'Juggie' Norris, Sr., 66, died Monday, October 14, 2013 at 4:43 a.m. at his residence in the arms of his son and with his beloved family by his side.
He was born January 1, 1947 to the late Ervin Norris, Sr. and Dorthy Martenia Norris. He graduated from Adamsville High School in 1965. Mr. Norris served in the Air Force as a jet engine mechanic from 1965 to 1969 during Vietnam. He worked for McGraw Edison from 1975 until its closing and then at Owens Brockway and most recently at Adams Lane Care Center until his retirement in 2008. Juggie was a true family man who loved all of his family and was always there for anyone who needed him. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and as a very hard worker and a Jack of all trades.
He is survived by his three sons, Michael (Ashley) Harris, Walter (Kaye) Norris Jr. and Daniel (Amanda) Norris; brothers and sisters, Ervin and Yukyi Norris Jr., Richard (Debbie) Norris, Donna Norris, Barb (Gordie) Newman, Carol (Mike) Person, Nathan (Becky) Norris, Patty (Eric) Alexander and Anthony (Marilyn) Norris; a host of grandchildren, aunts, uncles, neices, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a stillborn daughter, Danielle Marie Norris; sister, Diane Kelley and brother, Joseph Norris.
Calling hours will be today, Thursday, October 17, 2013 beginning at 11 a.m. with funeral service to follow at 1 p.m. at Burrell Funeral Services, 414 LaSalle Street.
