ZANESVILLE: Alberta Isabelle Williams, 93 of Zanesville, died 4:27 PM Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Specialty Select Hospital following a brief illness. She was born Tuesday, April 15, 1919 in Zanesville the daughter of the late Rev. Alfredericke B. Adams and Florence E. (Farris) Adams. She was 1939 graduate of Lash High School. Alberta was employed with Old Bethesda Hospital for 23 years as a nurse's aide and retired in 1981 from Essex Wire following 15 years of service. She was a faithful member of Union Baptist Church where she served as financial secretary for many years and was a member of the choir. Alberta was a member of The Muskingum County Green Thumb Program for Senior Citizens and a member of The Muskingum County Chapter of The NAACP.
Alberta is survived by one daughter: Lois P. & John W. Singleton of Newark; two sons: Fred E. & Rosemary Bailey of Fairfield and Kenneth B. Logan of Columbus; 8 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren: 7 great great grandchildren: one sister: Geraldine C. Logan of Zanesville; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Alberta was preceded in death by her husband: Walther Eugene Bailey who died in 1968 and two brothers.
Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00PM, Monday February 4, 2013 at The Hillis Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue and one hour prior to services from 10:00 AM till 11:00 AM at the church. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday at Union Baptist Church, 58 Eight Street, Zanesville, with Rev. Raleigh Ragland officiating.
