FINDLAY: Barry "Bear" Clinton Fawcett, 71, of Findlay, Ohio and formerly of Zanesville, Ohio passed away at Bridge Hospice Care Center on Friday, November 1st surrounded by his loving wife and family.

He fought a valiant battle against brain cancer for the past year and a half. He was born in Mt. Vernon on October 7, 1942 to Wayne and Wilma Fawcett. His father survives in Loris, SC.

He graduated from Zanesville High School in 1960 and is a graduate of The Ohio State University. He enjoyed a long career in product development at Createc Corporation in Tall Timbers Industrial Park, Findlay, retiring in 2011. He was well respected by all who worked for him. He influenced many lives by his caring nature and willingness to help anyone in need.

Barry married Joan Elizabeth Mohr on April 2, 1982 at Church of Christ Gambier, Ohio and she survives in Findlay.

Also surviving are his son Michael "Buzz" Andrew Fawcett, Dublin, Ohio; step-sons Michael Scott (Tonya Honigford) Friia, Pandora, Ohio and Marc Alan (Christina Blakely) Friia, Findlay, Ohio; he is survived by grandchildren Kaytlin Elizabeth Friia, Baltimore, MD, Sophia Lee Kelly, Greensboro, NC, and Matthew Roger Friia, Pandora, Ohio; he is survived by brother Daniel Fawcett, Norwick, Ohio; also surviving are brothers'-in-law Mike Mohr (Nancy) and James Mohr, Jr.

He was preceded in death by daughter, Karen Sophia (Fawcett) Kelly and grandson Davis Conor Kelly.

Barry was a Board member of Blanchard Valley Industries for many years and most recently served as president. He volunteered many hours at BVI and helped develop processes on the production floor to enable employees to work on special tasks required to get a job done. He was very committed to the entire organization. Barry served in the United States Air Force Reserves. He was past-president of the Findlay Kiwanis Club. He was also a former soccer coach for his sons. He was a member of the Parkinson Support Group. Barry enjoyed woodworking, reading and traveling. He was a soft spoken, generous caring soul and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 5th, 2013 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, Findlay. A funeral service will be conducted at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 6th beginning at 11AM with Pastor Margaret (Meg ) Knape officiating. Private burial with graveside service will take place at Memorial Park, Zanesville, Ohio on Thursday, November 7th at 1PM with Bill Meaige of Zanesville North Terrace Church of Christ officiating.
