Betty L. Boren

GREENWOOD, IN: Betty L. Boren, of Greenwood, passed away March 26, 2013.

She was born October 7, 1919 near Cumberland, OH, to the late Clyde T. and Veda LePage. She was a resident of Greenwood, IN since 1951. She married Robert S. Boren on June 29, 1946. He preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her sister, Helen Jean French; her brother, Joseph LePage; and her son in law, Glenn Campbell.

She is survived by her two children, Janet Campbell and James (Paula) Boren; five grandchildren, Kristy (David) Moulton, Peter Campbell, Benjamin Boren, Julia Campbell, and Candace Boren; and several nieces and nephews.

Betty was a registered nurse, receiving her nurses training from the Bethesda School of Nursing and The Ohio State University. She was a veteran of World War II and served her country as an Army nurse in Europe during WWII. She worked for both the Johnson County Memorial and St. Francis Hospitals and Cortese Clinic retiring in 1982. She also served as a medical assistant to her husband Robert in his Veterinary Medical practice in Greenwood from 1951 to 1989.

The funeral service will be at 1:30pm on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at the Greenwood Presbyterian Church, 102 East Main Street, Greenwood, where she was a longtime member. The visitation will be from 12 noon until the time of service. A private burial will be held on a later date in Gibson County, Indiana where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Robert.

The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff at Community Hospital South in Greenwood, the Rosegate Rehab Facility in Southport for all their care and kindness during Betty's last days, as well as the many neighbors and close friends that assisted Betty during her final years.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Greenwood Presbyterian Church or the American Red Cross.
