Charles H. "Henry" Lett

ZANESVILLE: Charles H. "Henry: Lett, 90 of Zanesville, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at 8:00 AM Sunday, July 07, 2013 at his home.

He was born Thursday, August 3, 1922 in Triadelphia, the son of Sherman Lett and Nettie (Clifford) Lett. He married Leona (Mayle) Lett, the love of his life, on Tuesday, October 26, 1948.

Henry served his country during WWII with The United States Navy in the Asiatic Pacific American Theater, serving on the Liberty Ship "Merrimac Seam." For his service he recieved a Victory Medal. He was employed by Dunzweiler Constructions, David Davies Meat Packing, Owner & Operator of Lett Refuse Service, Caterpillar Tractor of Denver and retired from Buckeye Supply. Henry loved fishing and hunting and was an avid gardener. To Henry his family meant everything, he was a loving and caring husband; father and grandfather who loved to spend time with them.

In addition to his wife of over 64 years, Henry is survived by five children: Dave & Bonnie Lett, Danny & Becky Lett and Douglas Lett all of Zanesville; Denise &Cameron Bryant of Westerville and Darla & Jim Blair of Rapid City SD; ten grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Henry was preceded in death one brother: Clifford Lett.

Private services will be held with burial to follow in Malta Union Cemetery with McConnelsville American Legion Post 24, Color Guard conducting Full Military Honors. Arrangements are being handled by the Hillis, Combs & Nestor Funeral Home, 935 Forest Ave. Zanesville Ohio.
