Charles Kenneth "Kenny" Buchanan

CHANDLERSVILLE: Charles Kenneth "Kenny" Buchanan, 93, lifelong resident of Chandlersville. Passed away at 12:45 am Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Genesis Hospice Morrison House.

Kenny was born December 23, 1919 in Chandlersville the son of the late Pearl and Fern (Taylor) Buchanan. He retired in 1981 the Ohio Ferro Alloy in Philo and he also worked for Timken Bearing and Bordon Dairy in Zanesville; after he retired he worked for the Wilds when it first opened, he was a member of the Carlwick Grange, he served as a 2 term Salt Creek township trustee, he enjoyed farming and spending time with his grandchildren, he was very active with the Chandlersville Community Building, he was a faithful member of the Chandlersville United Methodist Church and he served his country in the US Air Force serving during WWII.

Kenny is survived by his wife Lois (Greiner) Buchanan whom he married April 20, 1946; his son James (Kathy) Buchanan of Zanesville; his daughter Linda (Fred) Adams of Zanesville; his daughter-in-law Carol Buchanan; his brothers Joseph (Nancy) Buchanan, Gene and George (Clara) Buchanan; 8 grandchildren Stacey (John) Wilson, Jamie (Scott) Merril, Scott (Natalie) Buchanan, Jennifer (Alan) Lauvray, Vince (Amanda) Adams, carrie (Billy) Daniels, Charlie (Alisha) Buchanan and Christina (Ronny) Flynn; and 15 great- grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Kenny is preceded in death by his sons Gary Buchanan who passed away in 2010 and an infant son; his brothers Herbert and Dayle Buchanan; and his sister Edith Farus.

Visitations will be 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 pm, Monday, May 6th 2013 at the Farus Funeral Home, Duncan Falls where funeral services will be 11 am Tuesday. Burial will follow in Chandlersville Cemetery.
