Eileen Douglass Obituary
Eileen P. Clark Douglass

FRAZEYSBURG: Eileen P. Clark Douglass, 88, of Frazeysburg, Ohio passed away peacefully in her sleep Wednesday morning, January 16, 2013 at Cedar Hill Care Center in Zanesville, just as she had always prayed.

Born September 28, 1924 in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York she was a daughter of the late John and Lillian (Nevlin) Stack. She called Frazeysburg her home where she was the only person in town with a New York accent. She worked for many years at the Ohio Plastics factory in Frazeysburg and at the Frazeysburg Elementary and Junior High Schools where she retired in 1987.

On August 29, 1943 Eileen married Cody Eldon Clark. Mr. Clark was from Ritchie County, West Virginia and was a sailor in the United State Navy. Eileen's father had brought him to the family home for a visit. After they were married Eileen and Cody lived in West Virginia for a short while then they moved to Frazeysburg where they settled and raised their children. Sadly, Cody died on October 6, 1966.

Surviving are two daughters, Patricia "Patsy" Clark Ardrey of Columbus, Ohio and Elaine "Sissy" Clark Pace of Westerville, Ohio; three sons, Wayne (Dee) Clark and Cody (Debby Ullman) Clark, Jr. both of Zanesville, and Terry Clark of Frazeysburg. The joy of her life was her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her eleven grandchildren are Matt Ardrey, Phil Ardrey, Lesa Clark, Kevin Clark, Kory Gulley de Oliveira, Kim Clark Lulay, Lori Clark Robinson, Karen Clark Love, Kyle Gulley, Jordan Clark and Emily Clark Lawler. Eileen has ten great grandchildren with more on the way. Those who have arrived are Adele Ardrey, Ashly Clark, Austin Love, Ian deOliveira, Gage Love, A. J. Lawler, Keegan Gulley, Grady Lawler, Baylor Robinson and Colton Gulley. When seeing her large family Eileen would many times exclaim, "Look what I did!" Also surviving is a sister, Ann Berta of Mesa, Arizona, with whom Eileen was especially close; a sister in-law, Edythe Stack of Brooklyn, New York; a brother in-law Virgil Clark of Newark, Ohio; a sister in-law Mary Haught of Smithville, West Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her first husband, she was preceded in death by her second husband, Mansel Douglass whom she married April 10, 1990 and who died April 20, 1995; two sisters, Lillian Stack and Mary Chrusciel; two brothers, Bobby Stack and Gerard Stack and a sister in-law Anne Stack.

Although her life was never easy, she had a great amount of tenacity, a dedication of love and faith and a strong sense of responsibility. Eileen was a very hard worker and was very generous. She never arrived at anyone's home empty-handed. In fact, she usually had a full sack of groceries for whoever she was visiting. It was these qualities that helped push her through the tough times. We will miss you Grandma, but we know that it's time for you to get some rest.

Calling hours will be 2 to 5pm Sunday, January 20, 2013 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute, 110 West Third Street.

Funeral services will be 2:00pm Monday, January 21, 2013 at the funeral home with Deacon Pete Peterson officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
