M. Ruth Clark

DRESDEN: M. Ruth Clark, 84, of Dresden, Ohio died Thursday evening, October 3, 2013 at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.

Born January 12, 1929 in Zanesville, Ohio she was a daughter of the late Julius and Margaret (Switzer) Burkhard and was a 1947 graduate of St. Nicholas High School. Mrs. Clark was a 45 year member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary of Dresden and was a member of the VFW of Coshocton, Ohio. She was also a member of St. Ann Catholic Church of Dresden; she volunteered at the Red Cross and the Veterans Hospital in Chillicothe, Ohio. Ruth was a very avid card player, enjoying any type of card game. She retired in 1988 from the Longaberger Company with 20 years of service and she had previously been employed at Essex Wire Company of Zanesville. She was also the former owner of the Beauty Cove in Dresden.

Surviving are six children, Connie (Clyde) Buckmaster of Frazeysburg, Cindy (Jim) Kronenbitter of Zanesville, Jay L. Clark of Newark, Jim (Ann) Clark of Coshocton, Chris (Terry) King of Zanesville and Cathy Clark of Westerville, Ohio; ten grandchildren, Kevin Buckmaster, Kelly (Tabbi Moyer) Buckmaster, Sr., Tim (Sam Newsom) Kronenbitter, Mindy Kronenbitter, Tom (Jessica) Clark, Lisa Clark, Stephanie Hinds, Tim (Andrea) Clark, Kaci (Brody Searls) King and Tara (Adam) Pritchard; eighteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William F. Clark whom she married October 4, 1947 and who died May 21, 2007; two brothers, Russell and Robert Burkhard and a sister, Rita Burkhard.

Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm Sunday, October 6, 2013 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.

Funeral services will be 11:00am Monday, October 7, 2013 at the funeral home with the Rev. Father Donald Franks officiating. Burial will be in Dresden Cemetery.
