Marguerite "Jean" Lapp

DRESDEN: Marguerite "Jean" Lapp, 88, of Dresden, Ohio died Thursday morning, February 28, 2013 at Genesis Morrison House in Zanesville.

Born October 4, 1924 in Madison Township of Muskingum County, she was a daughter of the late Miles and Zetta (Crozier) Lane and was a 1942 graduate of Dresden Jefferson High School. Mrs. Lapp was retired from Tri-Valley Schools where she was a cook with 20 years of service. She had also been a bookkeeper for the Dresden Mill and Martin's Dairy. Jean was a member of the Dresden United Methodist Church and a former member of the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Surviving are two daughters and sons in-law, Martha and James Conrad of West Lafayette, Ohio and Nancy and Berlin Cameron of Dresden; one son and daughter in-law, David and Annette Lapp of Dresden; nine grandchildren, Mike Conrad, Scott (Amy) Conrad, Lorie (Garry) Buchanan, Corry (Julie) Cameron, Adam (Anna) Cameron, Wesley (Chrissie) Cameron, Nathan Lapp, Cole Lapp and Lauren Lapp; ten great grandchildren; a brother and sister in-law, Robert and Joan Lane of Dresden; a special cousin Dorothy Reeves of Dresden and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Raymond "Bill" Lapp whom she married June 7, 1947 and who died November 19, 2004; three brothers, John, Ernest and Clyde Lane and two sisters, Gladys Lane and Mary Church.

Calling hours will be 4pm to 7pm Sunday, March 3, 2013 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street. Funeral services will be 11:00am Monday, March 4, 2013 at the funeral home with the Rev. Greg Inboden officiating. Burial will be in Dresden Cemetery.
