NEW LEXINGTON: Neal E. Moore 91, formerly of New Lexington, Ohio passed away at 9:45am on Monday, May 28, 2012 in New Port Richey, FL.
Born September 11, 1920 in New Lexington, Ohio to the late Harry and Iva Rader Moore.
Mr. Moore was a life-long resident of New Lexington until moving to Florida to live with his son and daughter-in-law in September 2007. He was a retired tool and die maker and worked for over 35 years for Lempco Products in New Lexington.
Mr. Moore was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served in the European Theater of World War II and was the recipient of the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. He was a life-long member of John Tague Post #188, American Legion; a 28 year and honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #1065; member of B.P.O.E. #509; and a member of Saint Rose Catholic Church, all of New Lexington, Ohio.
Survived by one son, Roger (Diane) Moore of New Port Richey, FL.; one granddaughter, Jennifer (Mason) Hughes; one great-great-granddaughter, Elaine Grace Hughes, all of Indianapolis, IN; two step-grandchildren, Christine Adkins of New Lexington and Jon Hackworth of San Diego, CA.; three step-great-grandchildren, Michelle and Jonathan Hackworth of San Diego, CA. and Sara Adkins of New Lexington; two sisters, Ruth Watkins of New Lexington and Jean Eades of Fairview, Montana and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Eleanor Conkle Moore; daughter, Marilyn Marie Moore; three sisters, Eva Ellison, Gladys Smith and Blanche Clark; one brother, Paul Moore.
Calling hours will be held from 2-4pm & 6-8pm with American Legion services at 7:00pm; Elks services at 7:30pm and Rosary at 7:45pm on Monday, June 18, 2012 at the Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at Saint Rose Catholic Church, Main and Water Streets, New Lexington, Ohio. Burial will be in New Lexington Cemetery with graveside military services by John Tague Post #188, American Legion of New Lexington.
