McCONNELSVILLE: Paul E. Hickerson, 67, of Stockport passed away at 4 :03 a.m. August 5, 2013 at his home.

He was born June 29, 1946 in Penn Township, Morgan County the son of the late Marion Hickerson and Mae Jackson Hickerson.

He was a school teacher and principal at Waterford Elementary School and retired after 37 years. He was co-owner of the Never-Never fruit farm near Malta, president of Ohio Valley Christian Youth Camp, Elder and member of the Seventh Street Church of Christ in McConnelsville, Bd Of Directors of the Farm Agency in Morgan-Muskingum District,Ohio Reading Association, Morgan County Farm Bureau, former elder and member of Harmer Hill Church of Christ. He preached at several Churchs in the Mid Ohio Valley. He went on on several mission trips to Guyana, he received the Educator Of The Years Award from Ohio Valley University. He was a avid Cincinnati Reds Fan and always had a smile on his face. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather to all who knew him. He was always willing to help all those in need. He loved the lord with all his heart. He stood for faith, family and farm.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn McIntire Hickerson whom he married June 15, 1968; daughters, Melcie (Philip) Wells of Marietta, Rachel (Ernie) Cornell of Little Hocking; sons, Eric (Carolyn) Hickerson of Cumberland Furnace, Tenn., Joel (Stephanie) Hickerson of Parkersburg, WV; grandchildren, Kyle, Kody, Kali Wells, Emma, Abby Hickerson, McKenna, Kennedy, Jackson Hickerson, Ayden, Payge Cornell; sisters, Sue (Jerry) Hopkins of Belpre, Betsey (Ted) Wieber of Duluth, Georgia; brothers, Dayton Hickerson of Ravenna, John (Angela) Hickerson of Stockport; uncles, Elton (Jean) Hickerson of McConnelsville, Melvin (Jessie) Hickerson of Malta, Frank Jackson of Deavertown; aunt, Daisy Clarke of Columbus.

Calling hours will be held from 2 to4 and 6 to 8p.m. Thursday, August 8, 2013 at the Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville, and one hour prior to services which will be held at 11 :00 a.m. Friday, August 9, 2013 at the Seventh Street Church Of Christ in McConnelsville with Evangelists Sam Bartrug and J. D. Connely officiating. He will be laid to rest in McConnelsville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Ohio Valley Youth Camp 535 Lang Farm Rd. Marietta, Ohio 45750.
