ROSEVILLE: Paul Eugene Spring, 80, of Roseville, passed away at 1:44 p.m. on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born June 17, 1932, in Zanesville, a son of the late Delmar Spring and Martha Kern Spring McIntosh. Paul was raised by the late John Milner and Mary Spring.
He had worked for 32 years as an operating engineer for Shelly and Sands and was a Clay Township Trustee for 5 years. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Roseville and the International Operators Union. He enjoyed Blue Grass and Country music, attending athletic events at Philo High School and watching his grandchildren play sports. He served our country and protected our freedom by serving in the United States Army.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Rider Spring of the home; two sons, Alan Spring of Roseville and Marty (Leigh Ann Longaberger) Spring of Blue Rock; a daughter, Darla (Mike) Matheny of New Lexington; four grandchildren, Justin Spring of Crooksville, Jessica Matheny of North Carolina, Shawn Matheny of New Lexington and Cody Spring of Blue Rock; two great- grandchildren, Tyler Spring of Byesville and Riley Spring of Crooksville; a brother, Delbert "Jack" Spring of Buckeye Lake; and two half-brothers, Wilber "Billy" Jones of Utah and Raymond Jones.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Gary Spring; and three brothers, Jim Spring, Bert McIntosh and Johnny Spring.
Friends and family may call from 2-8 p.m. on Sunday, February 24, 2013 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 33 NORTH MAIN STREET, ROSEVILLE. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 25, 2013 at the funeral home with Pastor Alex Brown officiating. Paul will be laid to rest in Rose Hill Cemetery.
