Robert H. (Bob) Frye
GROVEPORT: Robert H. (Bob) Frye peacefully left this life on March 15, 2013 at Emeritus at Lakeview in Groveport, Ohio.
Bob was born to Harold and Helen Estock Frye on September 9, 1931, in Zanesville. He graduated from Lash High School in 1951, where he played on the football team that won the 1949 COL championship. He proudly served in the United Sates Marine Corp, fighting with the First Division in the Korean War and attaining the rank of sergeant. Bob and his wife Barbara were long time owners of Bob Frye's Drive Thru. He was a member of The Marine Corps League, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and Fraternal Order of Police Auxiliary. Bob was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church. He converted to Catholicism in 1989 and was proud of his faith and his church.
He is survived by his wife Barbara; children Karla (Mark Kaido) Frye, Beth (David) Kaufman, Kathleen (Bill Brill) Frye, Michael (Susan) Frye and Barbra (Rocco Hindman) Frye; and granchildren Brin and Robert Dillon, Caroline Kaufman, and Hayden Frye. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Shirley Frye Schnabel.
He will be sorely missed. All are welcome to attend a gathering for family, friends and acquaintances to remember Bob and celebrate his life on Saturday, March 30 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at Zak's Restaurant, 32. N. 3rd St., Zanesville.
