JUNCTION CITY: Thomas M. Ream, 88 of Junction City, Ohio, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, July 15, 2012 at 7:25 a.m. at his home. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and father-in-law.
Tom was born on November 18, 1923. The son of the late Thomas W. and Ethel (Wardell) Ream of Somerset. He served our country in the United States Naval Air Corp. as a pilot in World War II. He was retired from the Perry County Mutual Fire Insurance Company in Somerset, Ohio. He also owned and operated Ream Tree Farm for many years.
He was a member of the New Lebanon Lutheran Church of Junction City where he served as past Sunday School teacher and Bible study leader. Tom was also a member of the American Legion James E. Fisher Post 376 of Junction City.
Tom is survived by his children, Dana (Michael) McVay and David (Janice) Ream all of Junction City; grandchildren, Jarrod and Joshua Lucas, Keeley Hankinson, Amy Finck, Angela Ream and Mary Pollock and many great grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers, David Ream of Lancaster, Ohio and Donald (Judy) Ream of Florida and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth M. (Shafer) Ream in 2001 and son, Joseph Ream in 1970, brother, Jay Ream and sisters, Betty Jenkins and Lois Burbacher.
Cremation has taken place. Friends may visit Friday, July 20, 2012 from 4-8 p.m. at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home, 203 S. Columbus St., Somerset, Ohio 43783. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at New Lebanon Lutheran Church with Pastor Justin Van Orman officiating. Friends may visit at the church 1 hour prior to the service on Saturday. Burial to follow in New Lebanon Cemetery.
