ZANESVILLE: Tommy Keith Nichols, 61, passed away Sunday, April 28, 2013 at his home surrounded by loving family following a brave battle with cancer. He was born July 6, 1951 to the late James L. and Betty Nichols in Zanesville.
Tom was a Vietnam Veteran, serving in the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1975. He has been a mentor to as many as 21 teenage boys having shared his home as a foster parent. He also enjoyed coaching youth league basketball and football. He was a dedicated Pittsburg Steelers fan. He and his wife, Vickie spent time enjoying each other and riding their Harley Davidson motorcycle.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Vickie Rollison-Nichols; children, Brian Nichols, Misty Nichols, Ryan Nichols, Kim Pugh, Jacque McClelland and Dale Rollison; grandchildren, Judd, Trey, Jack, Klayton, Tori, Kenna, Dalena, Austin, Hanna, Parhker, Gator, Reilyn, Elaina, Haylana and Braley; great granddaughter, Jersey; brothers, Terry, Ron, Tim and Ted Brock and sister, Tammy Geese.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Betty Nichols.
A memorial service will be Tuesday, April 30, 2013 beginning at 4:30 p.m. with a fellowship and refreshments to follow at the South Zanesville United Methodist Church, 53 East Main Street.
