Virginia L. Longfellow

NASHPORT: Virginia L. Longfellow, 88, of Nashport, Ohio died Tuesday morning, May 14, 2013 at the home of her son, Raymond Longfellow in Nashport.

Born August 13, 1924 in Newark, Ohio she was a daughter of the late Orville and Madura (Howard) Felumlee and was a graduate of Nashport High School. Mrs. Longfellow was a homemaker and a member of the Nashport United Methodist Church. She attended Meadowview Church of Christ in Frazeysburg and was a former member of the Order of Eastern Star.

Surviving is her son and daughter in-law, Raymond E. and Shirley Longfellow of Nashport; three grandchildren, Ginger (Seth) Cole, Shannon Longfellow and Dina (Aaron) Doelker; five great grandchildren, Dillon, Austin, Alyssa, Landon and Elijah; three brothers, Jack Felumlee of Heath, Ohio, Kenneth (Helen) Felumlee of Nashport and Orville (Rachel) Felumlee, Jr. of Newark; one sister, Mary Jo (Gordon) Postle of Newark and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil "Cork" Longfellow whom she married August 13, 1945 and who died March 9, 1991; two sisters, Ruth Brown and Gertrude Hammond; a brother, Ralph Felumlee and a granddaughter, Denise Dovenbarger.

Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm Thursday, May 16, 2013 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.

Funeral services will be 1:00pm Friday, May 17, 2013 at the funeral home with Minister Sam Dunn and Pastor Tom Myers officiating. Burial will be in Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
