Paul Nelson Riley

CROOKSVILLE: Paul Nelson Riley, age 77, of Crooksville, went home to be with the Lord February 17, 2014 at Genesis Hospice Morrison House. He was born May 31, 1936 in Roseville, Ohio, son of the late James Birch Riley and Oleen Cook Riley.

Paul graduated in 1954 from Crooksville High School. He worked as a mold maker for Nelson McCoy Pottery, and he also worked for many years doing milk deliveries and was known as the "milkman". He also worked at Longaberger's as a security guard. He was a member of the OHSAA officiating crews for basketball and football. He officiated for 26 years, and was chosen to officiate a state football final. He was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church.

Paul is survived by his wife, Sarah Cannon Riley, they were married June 30, 1957; two daughters, Cheryl (Roger) Caton of Roseville, Paula (Marc) Caton of Crooksville; son, Bradley (Kelly) Riley of Roseville; daughter-in-law, Ann Gannon of Lakeland, FL; brother, Raymond Riley; sister, Jean Schultz of Buffalo, NY; grandchildren, Justin Caton, Shannon Caton- Hess, Sarah Caton-Hampp, Bryan Caton, Jennifer Caton, Darci Savage-Adair, Nancy Riley, Larissa Riley, Chelsie Riley-Macenko, Jordan Bowen, Cody Bowen, Rylee Caton, Dallas Caton, Dakota Caton, Jadelyn Caton and 21 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by a son, Andrew Riley; two sisters, Shirley Crain and Jane Golske and two brothers, Harry Riley and Robert Holland.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME 207 BURLEY ST., CROOKSVILLE. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 20, 2014 at the funeral home with Pastor Terry Preist and son-in-law, Marc Caton officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.
