PHILO: Larry Raymond Smith, 64 of Philo, died peacefully at 3:10 AM Monday, February 24, 2014 at his home. He was born Saturday, March 26, 1949 in Zanesville, the son of George Emerson Smith and Lura Bell (Ralph) Smith.

Larry was a painter and worked in the Columbus area for many years. He enjoyed restoring antiques and furniture. He enjoyed junking and could fix anything. Larry was always willing to offer a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He was a loving and caring companion, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family.

Larry is survived by his companion, Vonda Wojtkyna of the home; three children, Teresa Smith of Oklahoma City, OK, Steve (Clay Simmons) Smith and Larry Bell both of Zanesville; six grandchildren, Gibson Davis, Megan Davis, Joy Patrick and Presley Smith all of Oklahoma City and Caleb Lawver, Haley Lawver, Larry Lawver all of Zanesville; eight brothers and sisters, Dave & Nancy Smith of St. Mary's, WV, Robert & Terri Smith of Newark, Jack & Irma Smith, Margaret & Junior Guthrie, Mike & Myra Smith, Barbara Ann & Robert Norris, Roger Smith, and Linda & Tom Wheeler all of Zanesville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by one son: Robert Lee Smith; one brother: Doug Smith and one sister: Karen Clapper.

Friends may call from 10:00 AM till 12:00 Noon, Friday February 28, 2014 at The Hillis, Combs & Nestor Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, Zanesville where Funeral Services will be held at 12 Noon with Chaplin Tim Patton officiating.
