Donald Gene (Butch) Butcher
MERRITT ISL, FL: Donald Gene (Butch) Butcher, 78, of Merritt Island, Florida passed away Friday, March 21, at Cape Canaveral Hospital.
Butch was born August 11, 1935 a son of the late Frank Butcher and Hazel Butcher Prior.
A native of Zanesville and a graduate of Bishop Rosecrans. Don retired from Rockwell International as Associate Supervisor of National Operations (Shuttle Move Crew), working on all aerospace rocket and shuttle programs.
He was an avid golfer, fisherman, and enjoyed restoring vintage vehicles.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, James Leslie; brothers, Fred and Ron Butcher.
Survived by Jean, his wife of 34 years; daughters, Kathy (Charles) Groseclose, Brenda (Patrick) Tracy, Donna (John) Walker, Francis Butcher and Penny Bowers; a father-in-law, Ralph Prior of Nashport; two brothers, Michael (Sue) Butcher of Philo, Stephen (Nancy) Butcher of Pataskala; sisters, Geneva (Don) Roberts of Nashport and Jennifer (Ken) Miller of Zanesville; he had 14 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Arrangements entrusted to Brevard Memorial Funeral Home, Cocoa, FL. with services on Saturday, March 29 at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Academic Enrichment for Rosecrans High School, 1040 Main Street, Zanesville, Ohio.
