Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Wolfe

ZANESVILLE: Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Wolfe 94 of Zanesville passed away Monday March 31, 2014 at the Oaks at Bethesda. She was born March 18, 1920 in Wooster, OH a daughter of the late Walter and Clara Belle Acker Geitgey.

She was a former member of the Zanesville Country Club, avid golfer having two hole-in-ones after the age of 75. Betty enjoyed traveling and enjoyed many years in Carolina Trace in North Carolina, gardening and crossword puzzles.

Surviving are her children Stephen (Stephanie) Wolfe of Zanesville and Lee Anne (Richard) Loughman of Peachtree City, GA; sisters Vera Sautters of Canton, OH; grandchildren Robert (Nichol) Loughman of Williamsburg, VA and Gregory Loughman of Jamaica Plain, MA, Matthew (Kristine) Loughman of Suwanee, GA, Jessica (Josh) Thomas of Athens, OH, Jason (Dana) Wolfe Colorado Springs, CO; five great-grandchildren, William, Brooke, Violet and Annelise Loughman and Zachary Thomas; brother and sisters-in-law Ruth and Bud Abel, Clara Stockburger and Terri Wolfe all of North Canton, OH; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Wilbur Clyde Wolfe; eight brothers Jay, Merl, Ellis, Howard, Glen, Jack, Donald and Richard; two sisters Marie and Louise.

Betty's family would like to extend a special Thanks to Primrose Assisted Living, Oaks at Bethesda and Hospice of Central Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio, 2269 Cherry Valley Road Newark, OH 43055.

Private burial will take place at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.
