Leona M. Hohman

ZANESVILLE: Leona M. Hohman, 98 of Zanesville, died Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Beckett House in New Concord following a brief illness. She was born Friday, November 5, 1915 in Noble County, Ohio the daughter of John Crum and Agnes (Shockling) Crum. She married Bernard F. Hohman on Tuesday, January 8, 1946.

Leona was a faithful and dedicated Catholic. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fulda for 65 years and a current member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church. She was a member of St. Nicholas Women's Guild. Leona was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. Leona devoted the last 60 years of her life to caring for her daughter: Rita Marie.

Leona is survived by three sons, John Hohman from Zanesville, James (Mary Jo) Hohman of Hudson and Andrew (Donna Proctor) Hohman of Indianapolis; four daughters, Teresa (Patrick) Paul of Zanesville, Mary (Terry) Finley of Zanesville, Martha (Lyn) Goslin of Newark and Rita Marie Hohman of the home; 15 grandchildren, Jessica Hohman, Amy Figliuolo, Andrew (Jaylene) Hohman, Xiamara Hohman, Benjamin Hohman, Moriah Hohman, Nicholas Hohman, Stephanie (Nick) D'Amico, Brian (Kelley) Paul, Tara (Nat) Phillips, Jennifer (Robert) Ziel, Meghan Finley, Michael Goslin, David Goslin and Michelle Goslin; 20 great- grandchildren; one brother, Paul (Stella) Crum of Woodsfield; one sister-in-law, Mary Crum and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Leona was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Hohman who died October 17, 1973; two brothers, Andrew Crum and Walter Crum and one sister: Lucy Kress.

Friends may call Sunday, April 13, 2014 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM with a 6:45 PM Christian Vigil at The Hillis, Combs & Nestor Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, Zanesville. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM Monday at Saint Nicholas Catholic Church with Fr. Martin J. Ralko as celebrant. Committal Prayers with visitation will be offered between 12:30 and 1:00 PM at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 43700 Fulda Road, Caldwell. Leona will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband in St. Mary's Cemetery.
