ZANESVILLE: Charlotte A. Adams, 91, of Zanesville, died on June 3rd, 2014. She was born September 7, 1922, in Chicago, daughter of the late Arthur Joseph Anderson and Florence Rexin Anderson. She had a sister, Constance Hunt, deceased 1999.
She was active with Good Sam Circle, Bethesda League, ZCC Golf Auxiliary, and Muskingum County Academy of Medicine Auxiliary. She was an avid golfer claiming the ZCC Championship in 1962. She also played tennis well into her sixties.
In 1942 she met John Q Adams Jr. M.D. in Cleveland, Ohio, and married in August of 1944 in Detroit, Michigan. They celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary before his death in 2012.
She became a commercial pilot in 1952, and flew for 45 years. She and her husband, John, traveled extensively by their plane, motor home, minivan, and automobile in all the 49 North American States.
Surviving is her son, John Quincy Adams III, and his wife, Cynthia M Adams of Fort Worth, Texas. Her two granddaughters Kelly McBride of Potomac, Maryland, and Melissa Adams of Fort Worth, as well as a great grandson Cole McBride of Potomac, Maryland, also survive her.
