NEW LEXINGTON: Douglas A. Deavers, 75, of New Lexington, Ohio died Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at his home.
Born November 13, 1938 in New Lexington, Ohio to the late Fred and Dorothy Ervin Deavers.
Doug was a retired custodian for New Lexington City Schools; retired from Arcair of Lancaster after 24 years of service and also worked for the Perry County Transit; Baptist by faith; member of New Lexington Lodge #250, F & AM and a 50 year member of the Jackson Grange.
Survived by his wife of 51 years, Shirley McGill Deavers of the home; children, Fred (Barbara) Deavers of Newark and Lynette (David) Brenning of Logan; two grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Harry (Patsy) Deavers of Newark and Larry (Helen) Deavers of Hebron; sister-in-law, Virginia Deavers of Reynoldsburg.
In addition to his parents, preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Calling hours will be held from 4pm-8pm on Thursday, June 5, 2014 and from 11am-1pm on Friday, June 6, 2014 at the Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Friday at the funeral home with Reverend John Jividen and Pastor Larry Brisker officiating.
Burial will be in New Lexington Cemetery.
