Charles Rex Williamson

FRAZEYSBURG: Charles Rex Williamson, 91, of Charlotte, NC, died Monday, March 10, 2014 at Novant Health Medical Center in Matthews, NC. He was born December 20, 1922 in Frazeysburg, Ohio, a son of the late Clayton and Leona McFarland Williamson.

Mr. Williamson proudly served in the U. S. Army in the 726th battalion during World War II. Charles was a District Manager for Buckeye Pipeline, and retired after 44 years of service.

Mr. Williamson and his wife retired to Sun Lakes, AZ, after living for many years in Ohio, Emmaus, PA, and Olean, NY. He was a charter member and had served as Head of the Trustees of the Sun Lakes United Methodist Church in Sun Lakes, AZ. Most recently Charles was a resident of Atria Merrywood in Charlotte, NC.

Charles was married to the late Phyllis Kathryn Williamson for 63 years. In addition to his parents and his wife Mr. Williamson was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Craig Williamson and his brother Gale Ross Williamson.

Survivors include his son Mark Alan Williamson; daughters Cynthia Williamson Adams and Amy Williamson Dryer; brother Graydon Wade Williamson; grandchildren Jon Adams, Brooke Vail, Jefferson and Jackson Dryer and Andrew Williamson and great grandchildren; Jack , Megan and Eleanor Adams and Lila and Winston Vail. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Chuck's life will be 10:30am Saturday, June 21, 2014 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street with the Rev. Robert Mesnard officiating. Committal services will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
