Robert "Bob" R. McGee

ZANESVILLE: Robert "Bob" R. McGee , 85 of Zanesville died at 8:15am, Friday, July 11, 2014 at the Genesis Hospice & Palliative Care following a short illness.

He was born on October 17, 1928 in Zanesville the son of Lester R. and Mildred E. Monlux McGee.

"Bob" was a member of the Sonora United Methodist Church, and Retired in 1990 as a Machinist for H & R Tool Machine Shop in Zanesville after 15 years of service. He was previously employed at David Davies Meat packing for over 20 years and also worked at Dura Corporation for seven years. He was a member of the Malta 118 FM AM in Norwich, Past Master Laura Chapter 264 Eastern Star, and a member of the Ohio Arts & Crafts Guild.

He is survived by his wife Gloria (Schmotter) VanHorn McGee of the home; two sons, Kenneth R. (Julie) McGee of New Concord and Richard "Rich" L. (Rhonda) McGee of Norwich; a stepson Dale L. (Lee Ann) VanHorn and stepdaughter Cathy E. Wartenbee both of Zanesville; seven Grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Bob was preceded in death in addition to his parents by his first wife Donna (Garrett) McGee.

Friends may call 4 to 7pm with Masonic services at 4pm on Sunday, July 13, 2014 at the Bryan & Snider Funeral Home with funeral service at 11:00am on Monday, July 14, 2014 with Pastor Roger Morrow officiating. Burial will conclude at the Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, Military Ave.
