CROOKSVILLE, OHIO: Virginia Nixon Sherrick Compston, 80, of Crooksville, Ohio passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at the Fairfield Medical Center Emergency Department, Lancaster, Ohio.

Born April 11, 1934 in Crooksville, Ohio to the late Guy and Edna Anspach Nixon.

A graduate of McLuney High School, class of 1952; she attended Meredith Business College and was a member of Cornerstone Full Gospel Church in Duncan Falls, where she was a member of their music team and their Rest Home Ministry. She was a seamstress, former 4-H leader, a teacher of the piano, organ and keyboard, poll worker for 48 years for the Board of Elections of Perry County.

Survived by 3 daughters, Pamela Carletti (Mike Sidwell) of Dothan, Alabama, Paula (Bruce) Alexander of Hebron and Penni (Dave) Brooks of Zanesville; 2 sons, Royce (Kristy) Sherrick of Alamogordo, New Mexico and Shawn (Stephanie) Sherrick of Las Cruces, New Mexico; 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 4 step-daughters, 1 step-son and her fiancé, Edmund Klass of Zanesville.

In addition to her parents, preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Thomas Compston, March 16, 1995; grandparents, Howard and Margaret "Edna" Trout Nixon; Isaac and Louisa Garey Anspach; a son-in-law, Stephen Carletti, who was killed in the line of duty, while fighting a house fire with the Crooksville fire department and 1 step-son.

Calling hours will be held from 4pm-7pm on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at the Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio and from 10am-11am on Thursday at the church.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Cornerstone Full Gospel Church, Duncan Falls, Ohio with Pastor Steve Harrop officiating.

Burial will be in New Lexington Cemetery.
