REHOBOTH: Charles Melvin Mayfield, 73, of Rehoboth, Ohio, died at 7:17 p.m. on Sunday, February 6, 2011 at his home.

Born May 23, 1937 in Arkansas to the late Eli Elihu and Martha Emerline Kennedy Mayfield.

Mr. Mayfield was retired from Ohio Oil Gathering, where he was a truck driver; member of the New Lexington Christian Church.

Survived by: wife: Sue Knight Mayfield of the home; four sons: John (Jody) McNeely, Randy (Christi) McNeely, Shawn (Christina) Gleason and Justin (Kelly) Mayfield; eight grandchildren: Lee Wolfe, Lonnie and J.R. McNeely, Bobbi and Jackie McNeely, Austin Gleason, Jodi and Charlie Mayfield; one great-grandson: Aidan; brothers: Joe Mayfield of New Lexington and Verlin Mayfield of Harrison; sisters: Hattie Wilhite of Prarie Grove and Judy Riggins of Fayetteville.

In addition to his parents; preceded in death by, brothers, Nate, Roy and William Mayfield; sisters, Alice Seals, Edith Grannon and Bertha England.

Calling hours will be held from 2-4 p.m. & 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at the New Lexington Christian Church, 5010 State Route 13, N.E., New Lexington, Ohio and one hour prior to services on Thursday. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 10, 2011 at the church with Evangelist James Baston officiating. Burial will be in Community Gardens Cemetery, New Lexington, Ohio.
