ZANESVILLE: Philip M. Liston, 77 of Zanesville, died 8:35 PM Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at Genesis Good Samaritan CCU following a brief illness. He was born Sunday, June 9, 1935 in Zanesville, the son of George J. Liston and Lucille M. (Miller) Liston. He married Patricia A. "Pat" Smith Liston on Saturday, October 8, 1955 and was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church.
Philip was a driver for Commercial Motor Freight retiring after 29 years of service. Following his retirement, Philip was employed by the Joint Vocational School in the Truck Driver Training Program. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 505. Philip was a loving a caring husband, father and grandfather who had a great love of animals.
Philip is survived by two daughters: Linda &Richard Greene of Columbus and Rebecca "Becky" & Scott Hall of Chalfont, PA and one son: Michael Liston of Zanesville; seven grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Phil was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years Pat Liston.
Friends May call from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, November 16, 2012 at The Hillis & Hardwick Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue where a Christian Vigil will be held at 7:45 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 AM Saturday at St Nicholas Catholic Church with Fr. Martin J. Ralko as celebrant. Burial will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery.
