OAKFIELD: Allen C. Forgrave, 89, of Oakfield, Ohio died at 10:00am on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at his home.
Born August 25, 1923 in Redfield, Ohio to the late Thurman Allen and Nettie Mae Wingate Forgrave.
Mr. Forgrave retired in 1985 from Peabody Coal Company; he was a farmer; attended the New Lexington Church of Christ in Christian Union; United States Army Veteran of WW II and a member of Basil Grimes Post #222, American Legion of Crooksville, Ohio.
Survived by his wife of 66 years, whom he married on June 28, 1947, Georgianna Shipley Forgrave of the home; children, William C. Forgrave of Junction City, Shirley (Duane) Bolyard of Oakfield, Louise Rowe and special friend, Charlie Morehead of Junction City, Allen Jr (Pat) Forgrave of East Fultonham, Robert (Connie) Forgrave of Roseville and Barbara (Kevin) Manning of Stockport; 19 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Maxine (Bill) Carr of Grove City.
In addition to his parents, preceded in death by his first wife, Rosalie Forgrave; 6 brothers and 1 sister.
Calling hours will be held from 2pm-8pm on Thursday, July 4, 2013 at the Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, July 5, 2013 at the funeral home with Reverend Dan Hinkle officiating.
Burial will be in Rehoboth Cemetery, Rehoboth, Ohio with graveside military services.
