FRAZEYSBURG: Chad Andrew Garey, 40, of Dresden, Ohio died Tuesday morning, September 10, 2013 as the result of a motorcycle accident near Dresden.

Born December 9, 1972 in Zanesville, Ohio he is the son of Harold W. and Betty (Wilson) Garey of Frazeysburg and he was a 1992 graduate of Tri-Valley High School. Chad was an equipment operator for J. & J. Schlaegel, Inc. Previously he had worked for the Longaberger Company and North American Coal Mining. He enjoyed working on his home and riding motorcycles and he was a member and supporter of the Downed Bikers Association of Zanesville.

Surviving in addition to his parents is his wife, Wendi A. (Pelphrey) Garey whom he married April 30, 2013; one son, Andrew Garey of Adamsville; two daughters, Jalyn Garey and Jacquelin Massey both of Zanesville; four step-children, Brandi (Billy) Weissert of Heath, Ohio, Brittani, Robert and Brooke Kaplinsky all of Dresden; two sisters, Kelly (John) Strock and Lisa West of Zanesville; one brother, Rick W. (Tina Wiles) Garey of Frazeysburg; two step-grandchildren, Darryn and Kayden Weissert; several nieces and nephews including, Jessica Honabarger, Missy Dilley, Jacob Strock, Sarah Strock and Nathan Strock; and several great nieces and great nephews.

Also surviving are his many, many friends, not only from the Frazeysburg-Dresden area, but from all across the United States that he met during his travels. And there are his many friends from the Blue Front Café and his special friends, Bill and Donna Hill, Billy Hedges, Mike "Mongo" Hartshorn and Tiny Slaughter.

Calling hours will be 4pm to 8pm Friday, September 13, 2013 at the Meadow View Church of Christ, 6750 Raiders Road, Frazeysburg.

Funeral services will be 1:00pm Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Meadow View Church of Christ with Minister Sam Dunn officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
