David L. Dotson Sr.

NEW CONCORD: David L. Dotson Sr. , 75, of New Concord, passed away at 10:30 pm Friday, November 8, 2013 at his residence.

David was born February 5, 1938 in Canton, OH, the son of the late Norville Dotson and Reva (Powell) Shampel. He retired from the Cambridge Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol and he served his country in the US Marine Corps.

David is survived by his wife, Connie (Perkins) Dotson whom he married October 3, 1959; his children David Jr. (Margie Davis) Dotson of Cambridge, Brent (Lisa) Dotson of Avon, OH, Kendra (Marc) Cooper of Zanesville and Scott Dotson (Heather Leek) of Cambridge; his grandchildren Lacey, Brandon, Brittany and Melissa and two great-granddaughters Lexus and Carley.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by an infant daughter Melissa Dotson.

In keeping with his wishes, his body will be cremated and no services will be held.
