DRESDEN: Eric M. Alfman, 44 of Dresden, died 1:49 PM Monday, January 20, 2014 at Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster, following a massive heart attack. He was born Thursday, August 14, 1969 in Zanesville, the son daughter of Leo Alfman and the late Judy (Williams) Alfman. He married Heidi (Brandom) Alfman on Saturday, April 29, 1995.
Eric was a mason by trade. He enjoyed fishing; fixing things that other people said could not be fixed; enjoyed helping other people and was a friend to all who knew him. Eric was a loving and caring husband and father who greatly enjoyed spending time with his boys.
In addition to his wife of the home: Heidi Alfman, Eric is survived by two sons: Zackary and Benjamin Alfman; his father: Leo and Jenny Alfman of Zanesville; two brothers: Christopher and Robin Alfman of Buckeye Lake and Scott Alfman of Newark; two step-brothers: Andrew Hamilton of Houston, TX and Scott Hamilton of Crooksville; one sister: Gina and Jerry Dozier of Lancaster; two sisters-in-law: Amy and Jay Harper of Logan and Pippi Brandom of Zanesville; paternal grandmother: Evelyn Alfman of New Lexington; two nieces: Tiffany Alfman and Lindsay Dozier; four nephews: Jesse Alfman, Franklin Alfman, Michael Brandom and Logan Butcher; mother and father-in-law: Roy and Star Brandom of Zanesville and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
In addition to his mother: Judy Alfman, Eric was preceded in death by in infant sister: Wendy Alfman.
Friends may call from 2:00 PM till 5:00 PM Sunday, January 26, 2013 at the Hillis, Combs & Nestor Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, Zanesville where Funeral Services will be held at 5:00 PM with Rev. Mark Matzke officiating. Burial will be 10:00 AM, Monday in Zanesville Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with expenses.
