Arthur Titko Obituary
ZANESVILLE: Arthur "Art" Titko, 86 of Heath, died 7:40 AM Friday, March 14, 2014 at Heath Nursing Care Center following a brief illness. He was born Thursday, July 7, 1927 in Buckingham, OH the son of Andrew Titko, Sr. and Susan (Mate) Titko. He married Verginia "Jean" (Weaver) Titko in 1952.
Art was a veteran of The United States Army. He was employed by the SS Kresege Company and retired from Zanesville North Kmart with over 40 years of combined service to the Kmart Corporation. He was a member of the Clint Cramer Chapter of the Disabled Veterans of America, and a Life Member of the American Legion Post where he enjoyed playing bingo. He was an avid coin collector and enjoyed a good joke.
Art is survived by two children: Pam and Jerry Sprankel of Newark and Brian Titko of Big Rock, TN; three grandchildren: Kaylea and Tim Kaiser of Johnstown, OH, Shannon and Roy Reynolds of Brooklyn, OH and Rian Titko of Big Rock, TN; two great grandchildren: Sara Jean Kaiser and Andrew Kaiser; one sister-in-law: Betty Titko of Zanesville and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Art was preceded in death by his wife: Jean Titko who died February 5, 2006; two grandchildren: Michael Sprankel and Andy Sprankel; brother and sisters: Bob Titko, Sarah Kimball, Elizabeth Hodges, Lena Kocher, Andrew Titko, Jr., Joe Titko, Robert Titko, and infant siblings Johnny Titko and Flora Titko.
Friends may call from 2:00 to 4:00 PM & 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Monday, March 17, 2014 at The Hillis, Combs & Nestor Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, Zanesville where Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday with the Rev. Dr. Herbert Hicks officiating. Art will be laid to rest next to his wife in Zion Cemetery, Portersville where Perry County American Legion will conduct Full Military Honors.
