Ah Dave,

It's been a year since you left us, but it seems like only yesterday! Not a day goes by that I don't think about our friendship and how I wish you were still here. Hopefully, you are at peace my friend.

Reunion plans for Maple Heights Class of '65 (summer of 2007); today was the busiest start for next years plans, when there came a note that Dave's book was signed. I do know that he IS looking over our shoulders approving of the reconnecting friendships. His love and enthusiasm for our reunion remains with us forever. As our committee member, he was instrumental in the making of many new friendships and the gathering of hundreds we knew well. He's remembered in our perpetual memorial on our website, where his photo remains. He'll be honored each year as we reunite with joy to share the days of growing up together 'til the time we're all with Dave and our Father in heaven. Never forgotten, Your childhood friends, Mary Ellen and Maple Heights Class of '65 ....we miss you alot Dave! (web address for perpetual memorial)

I am so very glad we met David a couple of times and got a sense of his wonderful humor. I have known Diane since early grade school and know of her wonderful, skewed-but-definitely-on-target view of life, and it only makes sense that her dear partner shared the same fun,on-the-mark outlook. He enriched those who crossed his path, and I know he is going to be very, very missed by those who had the good fortune to know him or encounter him. My love to Diane. Sally Acree Domm

David,

Or as I will always fondly remember you as "The Beev". Its taken me awhile to share my memories in this book because you've been such a part

of my last 25 years. Diane, you, me and Dickie all went on so many

trips together and you were always there to drive Diane and I around in

bad weather or take me to my endless doctor appointments and testing

procedures. Sometimes at the office our ideas would clash and we would

have a little "tiff." Usually around the time of the company Christmas

Luncheon for some unknown reason. It was always over after the first

"Goofy Ginger" story you told at the restaurant. I have to say I am so

lucky to have had you as a friend and that I was able to hug you and

tell you that I loved you just a few months ago. Everyone is taking

good care of "Dine". GO BUCKS

Uncle Dave,

I will never forget the hours we spent talking about sports, history, business, collectables and anything else we stumbled upon. But the one thing that I enjoyed most was the Saturday afternoons watching football with you, espically since we liked rival teams. It will not be the same watching the "big" game each year. You are missed and I hope you are watching the games and writing your books in heaven.

Uncle Dave,

I have a great feeling of loss & sadness to know that you will never again be there to support me, as you did my entire childhood. You were at all of my gymnastis, band, and school events. I will never forget you sitting down in between my date and turning on the christian channel. And I hope where you are, you will always remember (and laugh at) me balancing (getting stuck) on the uneven bars. You will always be remembered and loved. Love always

Diane, Georgia, Lauren,Dave's family,& friends, I'm in tears; words can't describe losing my best friend. Our school day memories fondly shared, talking about the good old days in Maple Heights,& catching up on years gone by, prompts my daily thanks to God for our friendship. I asked for Divine help, and He sent a saint. Dave gave me strength and encouragement toward unfulfilled dreams,& vision to write. His friendship, courage, spirit, leadership, & life's work is a role-model for living one's best life. We all love you and miss you good buddy. Mary Ellen and Maple Heights Class of '65

I was saddened to hear today about Dave's passing. He was my best friend in Jr. High and High School in Maple Heights, and I spent many happy times with him at Boy Scout activities as well as School functions. We sang in the choir and upset Mr. Stone more than once. I remember the happy times we spent at Euclid Beach, Conneaut Lake, Chippewa Lake and at his parents cottage at Gloria Glens. He certainly will be missed.

I started working for Dave back in 1991 - one desk, a phone and a phone book - "now get to it" he said - that was Dave's extensive training program. Never could I have imagined how he would come to impact my life in so many ways. He was a mentor, a friend and the most honest man I've ever known. Diane, I'm sure you realize what a great man Dave was and how he made a difference in the world. My deepest thoughts and prayers are with you. He was truly one-of-a-kind - I'll never forget him.

Diane and family,

I'm sorry for your loss. While I never got to meet Dave personally, we had send emails and correspondence back and forth concerning amusement park history. He was always very kind and helpful. If I was stuck on some Ohio park history, I could count on Dave for his assistance, he was that type of a person. I was reminded of him several weeks ago when another amusement historian asked me for his contact information. I speak not only for myself, but also for the members of the National Amusement Park Historical Association when I say we are all so grateful for his work, his life and his companionship.
