Recently she had volunteered with United Disability Services and had been a member of the Women's Committee of the University of Akron. As a member of the First Congregational Church of Akron, she held the leadership post of moderator.

She is survived by sons, William Sonnecken of San Jose, Calif., Richard Sonnecken and his wife, Sara Watkins, of Akron, and Paul Sonnecken and wife Diane, of Grosse Pointe, Mich.; two grandchildren, Susan and Michael Sonnecken of Grosse Pointe; and brother, John Gregory of Avon, Conn.

She was a wonderful woman that I enjoyed getting to know during my short time at Sumner. The life that she could bring into a room was amazing. My heart goes out to your family.

To the Sonnecken Family,
What a wonderful couple your Mother and Father were. We lived a few doors away from them for a number of years at Hampton Ridge. Both were delightful and extremely intelligent people. Both contributed greatly to the community and I served with your Dad on the condo board. We will miss them both.
