John Langford Obituary

Langford, John Arthur, a long time resident of Anaheim and Fullerton, passed away in his sleep surrounded by family on November 19, 2008. John was born in Fullerton on November 20, 1923 and is survived by his wife, Marge Langford; his children, Jeff, Jim and Jennifer; his grandchildren, Scott, Jessica, Chris and Brent, and his sister, Jean Johnson. John attended Fullerton High School, Cal Tech and Stanford University where he received his degree in Chemical Engineering. John had a long and successful career as a manufactures representative in his own company, and retired to spend time traveling and being with his family in 1987. John was an outstanding tennis player and enjoyed camping, hiking, and the beach throughout his life, and instilled his love of the outdoors to his children and grandchildren through camping trips to Yosemite and the Sierras, and through weeks at Laguna Beach where he taught them all to bodysurf. He led a simple yet heroic life that touched the lives of many people in Anaheim through his generosity and friendship. A remembrance and celebration for family and friends will be held on February 7, 2009 at the home of his son, Jim in Coto de Caza, CA. For further information, please contact Jim at [email protected].

Marge,
I can't begin to tell you how I felt hearing of John's passing. My sister Susan called us to let us know the news. I still remember all those days we spent at your home in Anaheim playing basketball and football with Jeff and Jim. I know it's hard when you lose a loved one. We lost our dad in 1995 and I still think of him everyday. Thank God our Mom is still with us. We will keep you in our prayers.
