Jean Whitney Obituary

Whitney, Jean A. On February 24th Jean A. Whitney passed from this world. Born Jean La Verne Ogle on March 17th, 1938, she grew up and attended school in Los Angeles. She went on to graduate from Cal State University Dominguez Hills with a degree in Psychology. Throughout her colorful life Jean maintained a talent for business. As co-owner of a Honda dealership, a real estate agent and broker, and co-owner of the Lake Forest Equestrian Center she was always busy with a new project. Jean loved to support her community and committed herself to a number of organizations. Just a few she remained active in were The Orange County Performing Arts Center, The Historical Society of Orange County, Protocol Office of Orange County, The Rotary Foundation and Sister Cities International. One of her greatest legacies will be her dedication as a mother. She raised two families of children in the first part of her life and later adopted and fostered two daughters. Jean was a dynamic presence who had courage, intelligence and class seldom seen. Friends will remember Jeanie as an adventurous, down to earth person who loved to laugh. Those who knew and loved her miss her dearly. Memorial service for close friends and family is to be held June 14th, 2008 in Newport Beach.

Miss you Auntie Jean. I wish we had spent more time together. But we will, when I get to heaven someday, not too soon!
