Dear Friends,
We laid Dad to his final resting place yesterday. He had a funeral mass at Holy Family Cathedral and internment at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Orange. We contunued the celebration of his life at a reception at Orange County Mining Company, a venue chosen for it contains a life size picture of "Dadyy Ralph" on the south wall of the bar taken at the restaurant's dedication many years ago.
Many thanks to all who helped in making it all happen, with a very special thanks to those who made it so unique and special:
To Jay Cohen, the hornblower/trumpeter at Santa Anita race track who drove down from Glendora to play "Amazing Grace" and "Call to the Post" at Dad's gravesite.
To Dave Perrin of the Orange County Mining Company who opened his banquet room to our family and friends.
To Sister 'B' and staff at Holy Family Cathedral for all their help.
To Becky Hilgenfeld, Ryan, and Alan from Hilgenfeld Mortuary who helped us do a flawless and extended very personal service to our family.
And finally, to all of you who have sent their support, prayers and written notes, cards and flowers....
THANK YOU!!!
Dan

All of my happiest memories involve my dear, sweet Grandpa, Ralph B. Clark. I was very fortunate to grow up near him, and to see him at least once a week. My Grandpa is my heart, and I will always miss him. I love Grandpa's warm, gentle heart and good nature. He was quite a jokester, too! He is precious and one in a million (if that). Now that I have lost my Grandpa (something I have dreaded my whole life), my world will never be the same. Grandpa - I love you. You will be missed.

I played softball on R.B. Clark Jr.'s team in the '70's and enjoyed meeting Ralph Clark Sr. at a party celebrating one of our many championships. He was an impressive, powerful man with a great sense of humor. Some members of the team were expressing their displeasure at his recent 'no' vote for surfing lights at Doheny. Mr. Clark got serious for one moment and simply stated, "There are a lot of things the county needs much more than surfing lights at Doheny." Now that I'm an old man I can appreciate his wisdom even more than I did at the time. I am also shocked and very saddened to learn of R.B. Jr.'s passing. My deepest condolences to Bonnie and children. Sincerely, Chuck Dickerson.
