Carol Rolph Obituary
ROLPH, CAROL TERJESON September 22, 1945 - January 3, 2005. Carol Vaughn Parsons was born on September 22, 1945 in Dallas, Oregon. She lived with her grandparents and started school in Dallas before moving to Portland and then Lake Oswego. She attended Lake Oswego Junior High and graduated from Lake Oswego High School in 1963, then graduated from Eastern Oregon College in 1967 with a degree in Elementary Education. In 1967, Carol married Steven Terjeson and they moved to Alexandria, Virginia where she got her first teaching job at Patrick Henry School in Alexandria. She returned to Portland when Steve was deployed to Vietnam. Carol gave birth to her first child Sheri on January 30, 1969, her second child, Paul, was born on July 20, 1970. After raising her children and divorcing, Carol reentered the teaching field in 1978 as a fifth grade teacher at Edwards School in Newberg. Carol married Steven Rolph in 1984 and continued teaching in Newberg for several years at Renne Middle School and Ewing Young School before getting her Masters Degree in Education at Linfield College in 1988, pursuing her career in school administration at Edwards, Mabel Ruth, Dundee and Newberg High School then completed her career when she accepted a position as assistant superintendent in the Sherwood School District. Carol was stricken with a cerebral hemorrhage and passed away on January 3, 2005 at the age of 59. She is survived by her husband, Steve, children Sheri Terjeson and Paul Terjeson and her mom, Agatha Parsons. Carol was a lover of life and saw beauty in everything and everyone, especially the children of the world. She was a caregiver to all and loved so many. Carol loved to read, paint with water colors, garden, cook, sew and quilt, dance, meet new people, play with old friends, spend time at the beach, and explore everything in her sight. She brought joy to every experience and touched so many lives in the process. She will be sorely missed. There will be a celebration of Carol's life on Sunday, January 9, 2005 at the Cascade Grill Building at the Oregon Zoo at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to those impacted by the Tsunami, c/o N.W.
